  • How should I prepare for treatment?
  • Laser Removal is something we try to avoid here at Inkden Tattoo and Laser Removal clinic. But with times changing, and tattoos with it, it’s inevitable that some types and styles of tattoos will go from shit hot to just… shit. If you’ve got regrettable ink that needs to go, then laser removal is the answer.
  • Here at Inkden Tattoo Laser Removal Clinic we have compiled a list of suggestions to make the process of preparing for your laser removal session as simple as possible.
  • Before your laser removal treatment we suggest avoiding sunbathing, sun beds or self tanning products for at least 4 weeks leading up to your treatment, especially if you have sensitive skin. Sun tans must be completely faded before treatment can commence, as excessive pigmentation can lead to damage to the skin, blisters and “ghost” effects, which are where the skin becomes whitened where the laser has removed the tattoo. Sunbathing, sun tans and fake tans. Do not use hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, epilating, plucking, depilatory cream or electrolysis hair removal on and around the treatment area from 4 days before your treatment to the day of treatment. This is essential for the process to work effectively. Avoid aspirin, alcohol and drugs for a minimum of 24 hours prior to your treatment to prevent pin-point bleeding. Aspirin, alcohol and drugs. On the day of your treatment avoid using cosmetics, perfume, deodorants or face and body creams or moisturisers on the treatment area. They create a barrier on the skin leading to a less effective laser removal session. Do try using a local anaesthetics cream, which is a common numbing cream available at most chemists. It will make the laser removal process a lot more comfortable.
  • You may also find loose cotton clothing is more comfortable to wear once your treatment is complete, so come dressed appropriately.
  • Don’t worry about where the tattoo is that will be getting removed- here at Inkden Tattoo Laser Removal Clinic we have a specialised facility designed so you will have complete privacy during the entirety of your treatment.
  • And don’t forget- tattoos are not forever.
  • Laser removal can’t be rushed and your skin needs time to heal and remove the ink, but each session is quick and easy, and we try to make the experience as pleasant as possible here at Inkden Tattoo Laser Removal Clinic. By the end of your sessions you’ll be ready for a life without hiding an embarrassing or unfortunate tattoo, or maybe to book in for a new fantastic piece of ink. You can decide.
  • Aftercare
  • Whilst you may be getting excited about having your treatment with us here at Inkden Tattoo and Laser Removal Clinic Blackpool, the process after your laser removal session is just as important. The laser breaks down the ink particles in your tattoo, but your body flushes this out over a prolonged period of time- from anywhere between 6 weeks to a year. So it’s integral to your tattoo removal that you follow some strict rules to ensure a good outcome.
  • In the days after your laser removal treatment you will find loose cotton clothing more comfortable.
  • It is softer against your skin and won’t cause any unnecessary abrasion on a very sensitive area.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise and swimming as this can cause irritation and inflammation, both reducing the effectivity of the laser removal session as well as being painful.
  • If you play contact sports we advise avoiding doing so for a short period of time, as your skin will be more sensitive. Try not to use makeup and perfumed products on the treatment area, as these will cause irritation. In the case of irritation, we recommend using a lotion containing Aloe Vera- we give you a small amount after each session and you can use it as much as needed to help soothe the treatment area and make it more comfortable.
  • Hot baths, showers and saunas can cause irritation, reducing the effectivity of the laser removal session.
  • We suggest quicker and cool showers, which will also help soothe the treatment area. And, most importantly, avoid tanning after treatments completely. When sunbathing after your final treatment we strongly suggest a sunscreen with a UVA 5 star rating and UVB protection factor 50. As with tattoos, the results of your laser removal treatment depends heavily on how you look after it once you leave Inkden Tattoo Laser Removal Clinic. So good luck, and don’t forget that if you have any questions we are open to come in or call on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 10:00AM and 6:00PM, and Friday, Saturday between 9:00AM and 5:00PM. We are also available 24 hours on our social media- send us a message and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
