At Inkden, we’re thrilled to announce that our talented artist Shamack is about to embark on an incredible journey to showcase his biomechanical tattoo skills on an international stage.

Shamack has been invited to participate in the Calgary Tattoo Show in Canada, where he will represent Inkden Tattoo Studio and demonstrate his expertise in biomechanical designs to a global audience.

For those who aren’t familiar with Shamack’s work, his biomechanical tattoos are truly one-of-a-kind. With an eye for intricate details and a passion for transforming skin into stunning, 3D-like artworks, Shamack is a master of blending organic and mechanical elements into cohesive, captivating designs.

This is a huge opportunity for him, and we couldn’t be more excited! However, before he heads off to Canada, Shamack still has a few limited appointments available for his loyal clients here in Blackpool. The first Derm Shield application should stay in place for 24 hours, depending on the level of exudation. It is normal for blood and fluids to collect under the bandage.

A second application can be used for several days, and a third application may be used if necessary. Gently clean and dry the area between applications. Do not wear any piece for longer than one week.

If a second skin dressing is applied, this may be worn between 24 hours and up to 5 days or till any part of the tattoo gets exposed. During this time fluid will build up under the dressing, which is perfectly normal.  After that time, Gently peel the second skin by pulling it slowly from the edge back over itself. Do not pull the bandage upwards. it’s best to remove the dressing in the shower/under warm water. It’s an adhesive dressing that will be quite stuck to the surrounding skin, removing this too quickly may irritate the area around the tattoo.  Once the dressing is removed rinse away all fluid that has built up, then wash thoroughly with warm water and a mild/unscented soap.  Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel and apply a thin layer of aftercare cream. 

Wash the tattoo a minimum of twice daily (morning and evening), if plasma is emitting from the tattoo as a fluid it is important to prevent this from drying, as it causes scabs.  Wash the tattoo more often if needed.  Colour tattoos should be clingfilmed for the first few nights, washed, applied cream, and wrapped before going to bed.

If you cannot attend your session, please let us know within 72 hours to avoid losing your deposit. All deposits are non-refundable!

·         Please do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to your booking. Clients suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be tattooed and will lose their deposit·         

All clients must be over 18 to have a tattoo and a valid photo I.D. will be required as proof of age. If you are unable to produce a photo I.D. upon request, you will be unable to get your tattoo and you will lose your deposit.  

Before your tattoo session, please make sure to eat a substantial meal and have a good night’s sleep. Bring drinks and snacks with you; we do sell a range of snacks and hot food at Tea Amantes, the café attached to the studio.

It is extremely important you make us aware of these beforehand- Eczema, Psoriasis, acne, skin cancers.  In some cases, we will advise seeking the opinion of a medical professional and ask clients to obtain written consent prior to the booking.  Failure to mention any of the above conditions prior to your appointment may result in us being unable to do your tattoo and you will lose your deposit.

·         Healed scars (white scars) are usually able to be tattooed over, but this is not always the case.  If you have any scarring in and around the area of your chosen tattoo placement, we need to be made aware of this beforehand.  Also, if you have experienced any unusual changes in the area of your skin before the booking, let us know.

Aftercare instructions will be provided by your artist and are stated in the aftercare leaflet. If you require a touch-up session due to not following the instructions given, this will be done at your own expense.

If applied clingfilm, follow the instructions below:

• Gently remove cling film 3-4 hours after the tattoo is finished.
• Wash carefully in warm water. Rinse and gently pat dry with a kitchen roll or tissue, don’t use toilet roll. Always make sure that your hands are clean before applying cream or use disposable gloves.
• Gently apply a thin layer of a good Tattoo aftercare product.
• Every 4-6 hours for approximately 10 days (average healing time for a tattoo) apply thinly as too much prevents the skin/tattoo from breathing and can cause leaching of the colors. If this happens, discontinue use, wash the tattoo, pat it dry, and consult your tattoo artist at your earliest convenience. Do not apply alcohol-based products, hydrogen peroxide or gauze, Vaseline, lanolin, or petroleum-based products.
• After 5 to 14 days, the tattoo may start to peel (this is normal – like a sunburn) and scab.
• DO NOT pick or peel the skin away. Let it fall off naturally during washing or application of tattoo cream. Fresh skin will soon replace the dead skin. Colors may fade during the process but will return when healing is completed.
• After a few weeks, all scabbing will be gone, but the area may still be sensitive.
• Continue regular cleaning and application of tattoo aftercare for proper aftercare of your tattoo. Do not scratch.
• To avoid any possibility of bacteria transmission:
• do not allow anyone to touch your tattoo until healing is complete.
• Don’t drink alcohol or take any drugs:
• 1 day before and a minimum 4 days after.
• Wear clean clothes.
• Cotton is recommended Avoid contact with woollen/synthetic clothing. Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothing or any material that could damage your tattoo. Avoid areas where bacteria could be present
• Avoid:
• direct sunlight, sunbeds, UV, bathing in salt water or water with chlorine content (swimming pools) saunas.
• Wait at least 20 days before swimming in the sea or pool or using the sauna.
• Before exposing your tattoo to strong sunlight or UV, wait at least 20 days and use a high-factor sun cream. Exposure to the sun is the major cause of tattoo fading, but after a few months, you may sunbathe in moderation. Always use a sunblock (at least SPF-30 sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection).
• In the future:
• it is recommended to moisturize your tattoo once a week with a body lotion.

• We do not sell, stock or allow the use of Numbing cream for tattoos regardless of how long the session is. If you arrive to your session with Numbing cream applied, we have the rite to refuse service.
